1. Cassia
Metro’s 2016 Supreme Restaurant of the Year: Indian food but not as you know it, plus a wine list to match. Topped off with impeccable customer service Cassia is one of the city's must-try restaurants.

2. O’Connell Bistro
Simon Wilson of Metro: “The wine list is excellent, the menu is classic and the food is very reliable.” I agree. Closed since January after a fire but will reopen any day now.

3. DeBretts Hotel Housebar
The infamous Housebar at Debretts. With its authentic 1930s art deco atmosphere is one of the best places to go if you're looking for a great cocktail.

7. Auckland Art Gallery (Toi o Tāmaki)
For those that are inspired by the world‘s artists, the gallery is a must. Stroll across Albert Park where you can catch exhibitions such as this year’s Lisa Reihana: Pursuit of Venus. While you’re there, head across the road to the Gow Langsford Gallery.
